Overview

We worked with Satria Vale Architects on Nera Courtyard Villa, a proposed residence in Umalas, Bali, for Stillcourt Developments. The brief centred on the planted courtyard and the living spaces arranged around it.

Lead architect Adrian Satria contacted us through Upwork during design development. The 265 m² villa occupied a walled, 540 m² infill site, with the main rooms looking into an internal garden. The team needed to review the interior finishes, explain the courtyard arrangement to the developer and prepare images for the practice’s portfolio.

We set the wider views across the planting so the lounge, kitchen and dining area could be read together. Stepping stones mark the route between them, while deep beams frame the opening above. The lighting keeps a clear difference between the sunlit court and the sheltered rooms. Patterned shadows from the block screen fall across the pale sofa and woven rug.

Closer compositions focus on the stone island, dark timber joinery and brown patterned tiles. Warm shelf lighting makes the tile pattern visible within the shaded kitchen. Furniture and objects were kept low and sparse to preserve views through the rooms. The final set comprised 19 stills, from overall spatial views to joinery and appliance details, for design discussions, client presentations and marketing use.
